The Destiny Knights remembers William Avery Smith Jr. (A.K.A Timbuck). God decided to call him home sooner than we expected.

To us, Avery was not just another player in Dark Age of Camelot. He was not just another anonymous voice in Teamspeak. Avery was a gentle soul, a man who had the heart of a warrior and the soul of a poet. His outgoing demeanor and sense of humor punctuated a life lived without reservation, a life lived with honor. I never met Avery in person, but for several years I spoke to him everyday on Teamspeak. I knew him as well as my own family and friends here in Nevada.

I was told once that you can find out a lot about a man by the friendships he keeps. Avery had friends from coast to coast, friends on every continent. He was beloved by many, reviled by none. As his guildmaster and friend, I am honored to have known him, for he was taken from us way too soon.

Happy Thanksgiving DK!!! I hope you get to eat lots of yummy food and spend time with family members. In the words of our old pirate king…. PUNCH AND PIE!!!!!

With head start beginning at noon tomorrow and the world of Ateria opening up there is going to be a lot to do. Hopefully, everyone who is playing has made the necessary adjustments to enjoy their Aion Sunday afternoon/evening by preparing beforehand. Some helpful tips from your friendly admin staff in preparation:

Soda – Caffeine is a must!
Quick prep food – things like microwave burrito’s, hot pockets, etc…
Music – While the sounds of the game are neat having your own tunes can make the experience even better!
Clean Underwear – Self explanatory.
Deodorant – For those that share your living space please smell nice and not force others to dump water on you.

Hope those simple tips help with your day tomorrow! Let us all meet in the world of Elyos or on the battlefield in the ABYSS!

The server we have chosen to play on is Siel. The race we will be is Elyos and fight against the Asmodian for the right to Ateria! I hope to see you all there!

Aion’s preselect is underway and has been active for 2 and a half hours so far! I, among many others, were able to login to their desired server and create 2 characters in preparation for Head Start on Sunday at noon PDT. In my opinion this feels more like a teaser. I am ready to play!!

After many years of waiting a friend of mine has put together an awesome looking logo for our website. Thank you Gravity for doing this for our guild!

As Aion’s NA release approaches quickly (September 22nd for those that forgot), NCSoft has announced what the official server list will be. In addition to the list NCSoft will be holding a poll before pre-select on their main website to give the players a sense of what servers will be more populated. Currently, we are in debate between a couple of West Coast servers which are Siel and Israphel. Further discussion on our server of choice will be on our forums here.

A little about Aion

The game play is enjoyable and leveling is fast with graphics looking more realistic and pleasing to the eye. When questing, if you can’t find something you can simply use their built in locate feature to help speed along the process. Also don’t forget about flying which you get at the early level of 10. Many have already chosen to take part in this new venture and more are always welcome.

With the approaching release of Aion (September 22nd) I have created an additional Aion category in our forums for you to express your joy and knowledge of this new (to America at least) MMORPG.
